CCSA has approved extending the emergency decree until 30th November. Also approved for reopening are 10 business types in Bangkok and other dark red provinces. Curfew hours to shorten to 10pm to 4am, while shopping centres and department stores must close at 9pm.
These amendments with were announced Monday afternoon by health authorities are expected to be approved by the Cabinet tomorrow and then published in the Royal Gazette a few days later, thereby allowing businesses to reopen with legal permission. It is expected that these business will be allowed to reopen by this Friday.
Coconuts bangkok reported that the businesses and activities include:
- Pre-school children and young children’s development centers
- Libraries
- Museums and historical sites
- Learning centers, science and cultural centers, arts center
- Indoor sports arenas, indoor fitness centers
- Manicure salons
- Tattoo parlors
- Massage parlors, spas
- Cinemas
- Live music inside restaurants
Possibly no surprise to anyone, bars and clubs remain closed, with expectations that they will be last in line to reopen.
This comes on top of Thailands recent arrival at over 50 million vaccinations so far since 28 February with a stand out effort last Friday of 1,300,677 vaccinations. The number of daily cases continues its slow trend downwards, with some variability in the trend. Thailand only has around 24% of its population fully vaccinated at this time.
