Eateries in the capital with SHA+ certification or with Thai Stop COVID 2+ standards can serve alcoholic beverages until 9:00 PM. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) announced the new measure through Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang and went into effect yesterday (Sunday, 9 Jan).
Entertainment outlets, bars, pubs, and karaoke venues that want to change their status to restaurants are meanwhile required to seek permission from district offices. The district will evaluate its preparedness for control and prevention measures. They must also meet SHA+ and Thai Stop COVID 2+ standards and only serve alcoholic drinks until 9:00 PM.
To serve alcoholic drinks, the establishment has to accomplish all hygiene and safety measures, and at least 70% of the staff must be vaccinated. The Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration or SHA+ is the entity that sets the protocols.v
