Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Receives Green Industry Level 4 Certification

Mr Eiichi Koito, President of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “We are delighted that Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s 6 plants and the engine and engine plant parts or MMTH Engine Company Limited, a subsidiary company Received the Green Industry Certificate Level 4, which demonstrates our commitment to contributing to Thai society in environmental stewardship. and promote the Thai automotive industry to grow and progress together.”  

Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd. recently received the Green Industry Level 4 certificate for the Laem Chabang factory in Chonburi province from the Ministry of Industry. The company’s facilities in the area are among Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s key production facilities, exporting its vehicles to about 120 countries worldwide and has been producing more than six million vehicles so far.


The Thai government awards Green Industry certificates to businesses that commit to operating in an environmentally responsible way and that pursue the path towards sustainability. The Green Industry Level 4 certificate, which has recently been awarded to Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, is given to businesses that cannot only integrate environmental and social responsibility into the organization’s culture but can also constantly implement, evaluate and further develop such systems.


Mr Koito added that “We have used Waterborne Paint technology that can reduce VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions and built a wastewater treatment system in line with the 3Rs waste management principles by reducing Use (Reduce), reuse (Reuse) and recycle (Recycle) to reduce raw water use less and reduce wastewater emissions. In addition, we have also installed solar panels on the factory roof. and use solar energy in our car manufacturing process. The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 6,100 tons per year.”

   Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has also launched the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV to offer a new option for customers who want to switch to a plug-in high-powered SUV. A bridge (SUV) that offers not only high performance but also low CO2 emissions. Earlier this year, the company also initiated a new environmental project, “Solar for Lives: Solar Energy for Better Lives”, by installing a solar panel system to help generate electricity for community hospitals in Thailand. nationwide area It also supports the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions through the ‘Reforestation 60 Years 60 Rai’ project.
