‘Sam Wa Phananurak Park’ now opening in Khlong Sam Wa District, stepping into GREEN BANGKOK 2030

Sam Wa Phananurak Park is now open to welcome Bangkok residents and tourists to exercise, learn about banana plantations, and just merely hang out.

Asawin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok. presided over the opening ceremony of the landscape improvement project “Suan Sam Wa Phananurak” in Khlong Sam Wa District to increase green space in the form of a public park, aimed to make Bangkok a green city in the future, with Mr. Sakchai Bunma, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Bangkok. Bangkok Executive Committee Executive of the Eastern Bangkok District Office Executive of Khlong Sam Wa District Office, and related agencies in the area at the Sam Wa Phananurak Park, Sam Wa Road (end of the road), Khlong Sam Wa District.

Bangkok has implemented a policy to increase as many green areas and parks in the area as possible for people to have a good environment with a park near the house used as a place to exercise and relax It is also a solution to the problem of desolate public areas, reducing risk points, creating safety in life and property for the community and people in the area. 

Therefore, the project has been developed to increase green areas, with a new park by developing a public wasteland area along Khlong Nueng West, Sam Wa Road, Bang Chan Subdistrict, Khlong Sam Wa District, with an area of ​​approximately 2 rai, to become a public park. The park consists of a pavilion, a library in the middle of the garden, 169 square meters in size, a 380-meter walk-jogging track, 43 banana plantations, 14 rare plants starting with the word “Ma”, and a skating rink. Boards, 10 bases, size 475 square meters, wall painting, 123 meters long, and a pool of 950 square meters. 

The project started in October 2022, and had received support from the public and private sectors, including volunteers teachers from schools under the Khlong Sam Wa District Office in drawing together the walls in the garden, which is from the garden naming contest. The committee has considered and decided on the name of this new park, “Suan Sam Wa Phananurak”, which means a public park in Khlong Sam Wa district that preserves a variety of rare trees and plants.
