MedPark is determined to become a medical hub in Southeast Asia providing comprehensive care especially for high acuity and complex diseases.
Pongpat Patanavanich, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of TPP Healthcare International Co., Ltd., stated that MedPark has been developed by a group of highly experienced doctors in diversified medical fields. Not only has it set a goal of being the medical hub for super tertiary care that meets international standards, but the hospital has been designed with extraordinary attention to details, offering both local and foreign patients an unprecedented experience while broadly changing how healthcare is delivered.
MedPark Hospital is located in the heart of the new business district of Rama IV Road. It occupies a dedicated 25-storey building of 90,000 square meters. At full operation, the hospital can service outpatients in 300 examination rooms and provide beds for 550 inpatients.
The hospital is staffed by specialists in more than 30 fields of medicine, of whom nearly 70% hold American Board certification and/or are accredited by international programs in the US, Europe, Australia and Japan. So far, the company has received BOI incentives for four of its clinical centers, namely Cardiovascular, Cancer, Kidney and Laboratory.
In addition, MedPark has up to 130 intensive care beds, representing 30% of inpatient capacity and are all equipped with advanced technology to provide optimal care for critically ill patients. This is higher than all other hospitals in Thailand, which generally dedicate 10% of inpatient capacity to intensive care. In its first phase, MedPark will operate 205 inpatient beds and 65 intensive care beds.
Bangkok, 2 August 2021 – MedPark Hospital had launched the ‘Going the Extra Mile, Extra Hours’ campaign offering night-time Covid-19 vaccinations to foreign residents in Thailand to avoid any effects on daily vaccination services as well as on weekends. The night-time service was available from 2-9 August 2021 from 6.00pm to 10.00pm.
Dr. Pongpat Patanavanich, Managing Director of MedPark hospital, said that due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 and the surge in new cases over the past few months in Thailand, especially in Bangkok, MedPark is aware of the importance of speeding up vaccine administration for people’s safety. It is essential to generate an immune response among people including the hundreds of thousands expats who live and work with Thais.
Thanks to capabilities and readiness of the hospital as an inoculation venue with adequate medical staff and volunteers, MedPark is one of the three designated hospitals providing pre-registration for the target foreigners via the Thailandintervac campaign, which is a collaboration between Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. Initially, the vaccination service is only available to foreigners who booked in advance or pre-registered for vaccines.
Dr. Pongpat explained that the hospital is providing the vaccination service for expats to support the government’s vaccine allocation plan. In the urgent phase, the Department of Disease Control has prioritized vaccinations for healthcare professionals and frontline workers as their third booster dose.
While other target groups for vaccinations are Thais and foreigners aged 60 and above, people living with 7 chronic diseases (Interventional pulmonology, Coronary Artery Disease, chronic kidney disease, Stroke, Cancer, Diabetes, and Obesity with weight > 100 kg) and the foreign pregnant women with a gestational age of 12 weeks or above.
Earlier, MedPark partnered with the Ministry of Public Health and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to organize ‘Save Doctors, Save People, Save Thailand’ to accelerate vaccinations for members of the Thai Clinic Association and general public. MedPark has given more than 80,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines so far (as of the end of July) and expects to deliver more than 100,000 doses to Thais and foreigners by the end of September.
