His Majesty the King presided over the Royal Ploughing Ceremony of Phraya Raek Na – Goddess Raek Nakwan

On May 12 at 6:12 p.m., His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Prince Patcharakitiyapha Narendira Thepwadee Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siripatchara Maha Watcharajathida, left the Amphorn Sathan throne room of the Dusit Palace to go to the ubosot of Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram of the Grand Palace to participate in the royal plowing ceremony.


When His Highness arrived, he entered the Ubosot and lit incense sticks and candles. He then lit a candle to worship Phra Phuttha Maha Mani Rattana Patimakorn, His Highness, as well as to worship Phra Phuttha Yodfa Chulalok.

Later, His Highness lit incense sticks and candles to venerate Phra Khanthararat and then prayed for the fertility of the kingdom’s crops.
After completing the anointing of the goddess, His Highness went to pay his respects to the monks practicing the Buddha mantra. Her Majesty and Her Majesty the Queen poured the Thaksinotok and then Her Highness went to prostrate before the altar.

For the Royal Plowing Ceremony or popularly known as Rak Na ceremony, it is scheduled to be held in the sixth month of every year.

For the royal rice varieties prepared at the royal ceremony, there are a total of 6 varieties, total weight 1,728 kilograms, namely 1) White Jasmine 105 amount 245 kilograms 2) Pathum Thani 1 amount 399 kilograms 3) RD 43 amount 125 kilograms 4) RD. 6 amount 70 kilograms 5) RD 87 amount 300 kilograms and 6) RD 85 amount 589 kilograms.
