Personal Data Act Compliance Requirements for Mobile Service Providers

The Personal Data Protection Act, also known as the “PDPA,” is scheduled to go into effect on June 1. The country’s telecommunications regulator has urged companies to strictly implement the law. According to Trairat Viriyasirikol, the NBTC has finished drafting regulations that will help protect the rights of their users.

The NBTC is currently working on the regulations, which will be presented to the board for approval. Once it is approved, the regulations will be published in the Royal Gazette. Mobile operators have also been preparing for the implementation of the law.

In response to the law, DTAC, a telecommunications company, has created a customer-friendly policy that explains how it will protect and manage the personal information that its users provide. The company said it will only use this information to provide its customers with the best possible service.

In addition, Advanced Info Service has also been working on developing and enhancing its compliance tools and procedures. It also launched a campaign to educate its customers about the law. The company has also sent out notices to its business partners and mobile users about the various legal procedures that are required to protect their personal information.

The law requires companies to strictly implement various measures to protect the privacy of their customers’ personal information. Some of these include restricting the collection and use of this information, as well as the protection of it from unauthorized access and use. The implementation of the law was delayed twice due to the pandemic.
