History of New Bangkok Governor Team; An Extraordinary Team Covering All Areas

Open the history of the “Chatchat” team of the Deputy Governor of Bangkok, with extraordinary academic qualifications, including various professionals, academicians, civil servants, and new entrepreneurs in Bangkok.

On June 1, 2022, the journalist reported that at about 1:19 p.m., Mr Chatchart Sitthiphan, Governor of Bangkok Travel, paid respect to the holy relic of Bangkok City Hall along with the launch of the Bangkok management team consisting of,

1. Associate Professor Dr Wisanu Sapsomphon

Director, Institute of Intellectual Property of Chulalongkorn University Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Chulalongkorn University (First Class Honors), Civil Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Law from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University.

Used to hold the position of Assistant to the Rector for Physical Systems Administration Chulalongkorn University, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology Development Chulalongkorn University, and Assistant Dean for Administration Faculty of Engineering Chulalongkorn University.

In addition, he also holds the position of Director of Chamchuri Innovation Products Company Limited, Independent Director of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited and Independent Director of Land and Houses Public Company Limited.

2. Mr Chakphan Pewngam

Former deputy governor BMA received a bachelor’s degree from Khon Kaen University (KKU) and a master’s degree from Chulalongkorn University.

He used to be Assistant Director of Bangkok Yai District, Head of the Secretariat of the Governor of Bangkok (then as Director of Bangkok Yai District, Chom Thong District, Chatuchak District and Thaweewattana Subsequently), Deputy Director of the Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Deputy Director of the Office of Municipal Affairs, Deputy Chief Inspector General of Bangkok, before retirement with the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary for Bangkok.

After only 19 days of retirement, “Pol. Gen. Asawin Kwanmuang, Bangkok Governor”, approached him to assume the position of Deputy Governor of Bangkok, assigned to be responsible for 6 departments, which consist of,

Bangkok Budget Bureau, Public Works Bureau, Drainage Bureau, Environment Bureau, Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, and District Office in relation to the Civil Department Cleanliness and Parks Department

After holding office for a while, Mr Chakphan submitted a resignation letter to Pol. Gen. Asawin, on July 22, 2022, due to the pressure of approving the tender results regarding the implemented two incinerator projects, the private sector complained that there are benefits to some other sectors.

3. Assistant Professor Dr Tawida Kamolvej

The Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Thammasat University is one of the experts in disaster and emergency management.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public administration (First Class Honors) at Thammasat University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Thammasat University, a PhD (Public Administration and Policy) for the School of Public and International Affairs at University of Pittsburgh, USA Certificate in Public Administration and Management at University of South Florida, USA.

Since 1998, as a lecturer in Public Administration, Faculty of Political Science at Thammasat University. He is also a risk management consultant, including disaster management for Thai and international organizations worldwide and an advisory working group in several sets, such as the Sub-Committee of the Bangkok Civil Service Office by taking the position from 2019 to the present.

4. Mr Sanon Wangsangbun

Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University

He is a co-founder of SATARANA (Public), a civil society network working on urban development, and one of the Mayday team who designed and renovated the new bus stop. And also co-founded Trawell Group, the owner of Once Again Hostel, Luk Hostel in Yaowarat, and Local.bkk, a food delivery platform.

About 6 months after establishing the Once Again Hostel, there was an issue of demolishing the Mahakan Fortress. As one of the stakeholders, he began to work more socially.
