The Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, officially opened the Pride Month in Thailand by recognizing the Samyan Mitrtown as the country’s iconic LGBTQ+ community. Through its 100% Love Campaign, the town has been able to inspire the nation’s LGBTQ+ community. The municipality has also adopted a policy that recognizes people of diverse sex and genders.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is committed to providing equal service to all individuals, regardless of their sex or gender identity. This is evidenced by the organization’s efforts to accept and respond to the diverse needs of its citizens. To this end, the BMA will start a pilot program that will allow it to provide medical counseling services to transgender individuals. This is aimed at creating a state welfare that is responsive to and inclusive of human diversity.
