On June 6, Apple Inc. opened the annual developer conference 2022, known as WWDC 2022 or Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2022.
The conference was broadcasted live and presented many new products such as iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS Ventura and Apple M2 and the new iOS16 which was highly expected.
iOS16: the star of this event was the new operating system iOS16 which benefits from a continuous improvement and the addition of new functions always more practical. Thanks to this new OS the lock screen will be completely customizable, it will be possible to change the aesthetics in real time, simply by clicking on “edit” to change the font and writing color. The lock screen interface will also get closer to the Apple Watch, with simplified access to several tools on the phone. Notifications have been redesigned and now scroll from the bottom of the screen, providing a more clear view of the lock screen. The new iOS16 will also feature a new Live API that will allow you to display various personalized information such as sports scores, workout stats, carpooling information or an order placed with a meal delivery service such as Uber.
Despite its great age, the Messages app also continues to get more polished with this new version of iOS16. Apple is offering a long-awaited feature: the ability to edit a message after sending it, or even delete it. It will also be possible to select unread messages and mark them to come back and read them later, so you won’t miss important messages anymore. iOS 16 will also introduce family sharing for photos in a dedicated iCloud Share Photo Family library.
Watch OS9: A number of updates are coming to the Workout app, the new APPLE Watch OS9 notably has 4 display profiles and has a HEALTH feature to report different results such as sleep quality which is surely going to satisfy health lovers.
You will also be able to customize your workouts by adjusting work and recovery intervals, and heart rate zones will be automatically calculated and customized using your health data. Other workout updates include multi-sport, which allows you to switch between swimming, running and cycling, the addition of automatic Kickboard recognition (swimming with a float) and numerous updates for running. The application will also remind you of the correct posture for running to prevent injuries due to poor posture.
M2 Chip: The new M2 chip combines faster cores with an integrated cache increased to 24GB, while the power consumption of the high performance cores has been decreased. This new chip provides 18% higher performance than the previous M1 chip, allowing the M2 chip to handle CPU-intensive tasks, such as creating music with many tracks and effects or applying complex filters to photos, while consuming very little power.
MacBook Air: The MacBook Air of 2022 integrates the new M2 chip and benefits from a makeover with refined edges, a thickness of 11.3 mm, a weight of 1.2 kg, and a screen width of 13.6 inches all available in 4 colors: Sillver, Space Gray, Starlight and Midnight. The MacBook Air of 2022 is also equipped with a Dolby Atmos spatial sound, a 1080p front camera, and a fast charge battery that lasts up to 18 hours.
Mac OS Ventura: Stage manager is the main new feature of Mac OS Ventura.
Stage Manager, allows you to organize the screen when running multiple windows and remains on the side of the screen when you want to use it.
Each visual element is a preview of an open window, or a set of windows. The idea is to improve switching between applications and thus speed up tasks that involve multiple windows.
iPadOS 16: Apple’s tablet has also been given a whole host of new features. The interesting thing about this new iPad is the online collaboration application FREEDOM. This application is like a cloud for brainstorming. You can write on the iPad and share the screen for everyone to see. And most importantly, the app supports the Thai language.
