5G Smart Station is a term used to describe Bang Sue Grand Station

The new Bangkok Central Railway Station is the first in Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia to include full 5G connection. The government has shown an interest in extending 5G coverage in transportation hubs and other locations to aid in service enhancement and guarantee universal access to this technology.

Krungthep Apiwat Station (also known as Bangkok’s Bang Sue Grand Station) will receive 5G coverage as part of a proposal to turn this station into a smart transportation hub, according to the State Railway of Thailand and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.

Vice Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan stated during the inaugural event that this “5G Smart Station” is the first of its type in Southeast Asia to use this cutting-edge technology. The Thai cellular service provider True Corporation installed the 5G network at Bang Sue Grand Station.

General Prawit stated that the project is evidence of the government’s commitment to promote widespread use of 5G networks. In an effort to better serve both locals and visitors, the government has decided to roll out 5G connectivity at major transportation hubs around the country.

Wireless devices other than smartphones can benefit from the rapid data transfer rates made possible by 5G technology. This event also marked the debut of smart trolleys and a security system powered by artificial intelligence to better serve visitors to this key transit hub.
