Bangkok Massage Parlor Raid Nets 15 Illegal Workers

In a recent operation on Saturday, Bangkok police stormed “Uncle Ood Massage,” a massage parlor in Big C Ladprao mall, Lat Phrao district, arresting 15 foreign nationals following allegations of illicit activities. The raid, spearheaded by the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division, was initiated due to reports that the establishment was offering sexual services to its clientele.

The apprehended individuals, all from Myanmar, were taken into custody for violating immigration laws by entering Thailand illegally and working without proper permits. Sanid Kodphukeaw, 62, claiming to be the business owner, faces charges related to employing these undocumented workers.

Authorities are conducting further investigations to ascertain if the arrested individuals were involved in prostitution, intensifying the scrutiny on the massage parlor’s operations.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Bangkok’s law enforcement to clamp down on illegal employment and potential exploitation within the city’s informal service sector, with officials at various levels of the Anti-Trafficking Division playing key roles in the raid.
