Cat rescued after 8 days trapped in shop ceiling

A male cat named “Swat” was rescued after being trapped inside the ceiling of a newly renovated eyeglass shop in Si Racha district, Chonburi, for eight days. The cat’s owner, who had been searching for him during that time, was relieved to find him alive.

At around 11 a.m. on October 10, 2567, Praphat Charoensantisuk, Deputy Mayor of Si Racha, received a report from locals about a cat stuck behind the ceiling of a shop near Sam Chai Junction in the town’s municipal area. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and quickly worked to cut through the ceiling panels and reach the cat, which had been meowing for help.

The cat’s owner, Suwet Hachai, explained that Swat, his male cat aged a little over a year, had gone missing for eight days. Upon learning from residents that a cat had been found inside the shop’s ceiling, he rushed over with food to offer his starving pet. He expressed his gratitude to Deputy Mayor Praphat and the firefighting team for their prompt assistance in rescuing his cat.

The shop had recently undergone renovations, and it is believed that the cat entered the building before the ceiling was sealed.
