This service is the result of collaboration between the Thai Meteorological Department, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, and LINE Company (Thailand).

The Prime Minister of Thailand, Prayut Chan-o-cha, has stated that the service will give an additional channel for timely alerts to more people, fitting in with the modern digital lifestyle.

Anyone using LINE can add the @linealert account as a buddy to get notifications in the event of an emergency.
