Spouses of government ministers view the museum venue for APEC spouses

To prepare for November’s APEC spouses’ summit, a museum in Ayutthaya has been inspected by the partners of cabinet ministers. Families of APEC leaders will visit attractions like the Arts of the Kingdom museum during APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

Naraporn Chan-ocha, wife of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, led a group of ministers’ wives on a tour of the museum. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother is responsible for the Arts of the Kingdom museum in the Bang Pa-in neighborhood of Ayutthaya. Thai sustainable and ecologically friendly growth based on the Sufficiency Economy principle is the focus of this museum. These capacities and accomplishments align with the SDGs set by the United Nations.

The museum showcases the early works of Queen Sirikit Institute graduates with their more mature creations. The exhibit items showcase the gold, silver, metal, and fabric crafting abilities of Thai artisans. Various containers, weapons, tools, and decorative items are on show. Woven purses and other accessories, jewel beetle wings, and wooden dolls are some examples of other types of artwork.

When the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting takes place on November 18-19, the spouses of the APEC leaders will go to the museum. For this event, they will also take part in a unique activity.

Wednesdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the public is welcome to explore the Arts of the Kingdom museum.
